Everyone I know who has been successful created a list of "mini-goals" to achieve along the way. It keeps you from looking really far into the future and thinking, "I'll never get there." With mini-goals, you can always see your next goal on the horizon, and that anticipation of earning an achievement keeps you motivated.
Here is my list of mini-goals and the dates I achieved them:
282 - 75 pounds lost
264 - my lowest weight since summer 2008
257 - 100 pounds lost
249 - under 250
247 - BMI under 40
245 - BMI Obese Class 2 (no longer "morbidly obese", which means no more pressure from doctors to have weight loss surgery)
232 - 125 pounds lost
224 - lowest weight since 2001
213 - BMI Obese Class 1
207 - 150 pounds lost
199 - under 200 - lowest weight since 1998 - CEDAR POINT
185 - BMI under 30 - "overweight" instead of "obese"
182 - 175 pounds lost
175 - college weight
165 - high school weight
157 - 200 pounds lost
154 - "normal" BMI (24.9)
Sarah! You are fabulous and so very brave to do this and document it all. When it's time to do your 5k and cross it off the list I will do it with you. I've just discovered running and try to do one a month. Dare I suggest October 6 in Gaylord for the Guardian Gals. It's a walk/run so no pressure on time. Like your pictures it would be good to have your first official 5k time. Gentle nudge. Brooke Stahle
